Taste of Raj takeaway company in Edgware enters liquidation

The company behind Taste of Raj, the takeaway at 221 Deansbrook Road in Edgware, has gone into liquidation. Golden Bengal (London) Ltd resolved at a general meeting on 4 August 2026 that it “be wound up voluntarily”, and the formal notices were published in The London Gazette on 10 August. What the notices record

The Gazette notice gives the company’s trading name as Taste of Raj and its nature of business as “take-away food shop and mobile food stand”. Its registered office and its principal trading address are both listed as 221 Deansbrook Road, Edgware, HA8 9BX. The winding-up resolution was passed at a general meeting held by conference call at 2.30pm on 4 August. (The Gazette, notice 5188696)

This is a creditors’ voluntary liquidation, the procedure a company’s own shareholders use to close it down when it cannot carry on because of its debts, rather than a compulsory winding-up ordered by a court.

Companies House shows Golden Bengal (London) Ltd was incorporated on 20 September 2018, so the company closes a few weeks short of its eighth birthday. Its filing record carries an “accounts overdue” marker: the last accounts on file cover the year to 30 September 2024, and the next set was due by 30 June 2026. (Companies House, company 11578855)

The notices do not say whether the takeaway itself is still serving customers, or what will happen to the premises.

The premises’ food hygiene record

The Food Standards Agency register records a food hygiene rating of 2, meaning “improvement necessary”, for Taste Of Raj at 221 Deansbrook Road, from an inspection by Barnet council on 7 May 2026.
